Simple. They depend upon him to provide for them. Its all they have
Just criticism is handled well. Lies, distortions, half-truths and various forms of propaganda are not just criticism. Stupid names referring to President Obama or his wife are not just criticism. Calls for group amnesia so that the condition of the nation can be entirely blamed on President Obama are not just criticism. That may constitute what you describe as Democrats not handling criticism of President Obama. Your perception is biased.

Perhaps it is from the democratic parties platform which reads, and I quote
“Thou shalt not allow any criticism of our Lord and Savior Barack Hussein 0bama, to go with out rebuke”
they can’t handle the criticism because they put him on a pedestal much like a deity. If you saw the speech last week Pelosi was gaga over his every word. She and Reid are so far up Obama’s but that if he turns too quickly they will break their noses
Criticism of our President is one thing, but rhetoric, lies, propaganda and flat out racism is something else.
If I really remember back between 2001 and 2006 criticizing Bush during this time was seen as treason and unamerican, so don’t say that Bush was treated badly.
Ever notice when you criticize his ” policies ” alone, the race card IMMEDIATELY comes into play ??
