In The Next Election, Will Republicans Be Able To Persuade The Public That Obama Started The Financial Crisis?
June 1st, 2009We’re talking about a public with an incredibly short memory. We’re talking about a public that largely believed Saddam was behind 9/11. Is there any question that the next election will include a republican strategy to frame the economic crisis as the thing Obama started?
Many people have already been convinced.
Remember that 9/11 was also supposedly Bill Clinton’s fault. Everyone forgot when he launched cruise missiles at Osama bin Laden. Everyone forgets that at the time the Republicans were screaming “Wag the dog!” because Clinton got closer than anyone has since to killing him. Remember that Bush ignored Clinton’s plan to send special forces into Afghanistan and kill bin Laden, even when Clinton told him that al Qaida would be his greatest concern.
Of course they will be able to “forget” when the recession started.
The original problem was Clinton. (not him personally, but it was his staff, which was democratic)
They released the limits on subprime loans.

Obama did not start the current economic crisis. What really made it so bad was the housing goals set by Congress. These told mortgage giants like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that they had to give a certain number of mortgages (this number is very high). This caused them to agree on mortgages with people/corporationss/comanies that would not make good on the money they owe.
So, Obama did not start it, but he seems to be making it worse. I do not know if the Republicans will be able to pull of a win in the next election. The party is in a shambles right now. But, if they get their act together, then they might be able to pull it off.
Let me get this straight. Bush approved a bill passed by a Democrat conrolled congress that was just shy of a trillion dollars to prevent a financial melt down called TARP which Senator Obama voted for. Now, President Obama is blaming Bush for that.
Then, the Democrat controlled Congress passes the single largest borrowing and spending bill in the history of the planet, so extreme it more than quadrupled our debt with the support of only three Republicans Senators one of which then changed to the Democrat Party. And you are blaming the Republicans?

The public wised up. The public knows now to find the truth for itself. As James Carville puts in his new book, the myth of Republican competence has been shattered.
No need, since according to Obama his Stimulus is supposedly going to “solve” the economic crisis.
So the question should be will the democrats be able to persuade the public that it isn’t Obama fault for Extending and Worsening the Economic Crisis with his Out of Control Spending?
They’ll definitely try to.
Like they tried to persuade the public this past election into thinking that Obama was the Anti Christ, and a muslim terrorist from Kenya. And a bunch of other junk.
That’s what they do. They use fear tactics to try and scare people into voting for their party.

Obama didn’t start it. The Democrats started this when they took over congress in 2007. Things were going great until they took over, then the country went to hell.
