Nice try, but no cigar. The Obama health care plan will provide a public, non-profit health insurance plan as competition to the private for-profit plans. Nobody is going to force you to give up your current plan or your current doctor. Aside from the 45 million uninsured, there's about that many who are under insured and would probably welcome an alternative to the health care plan they already have. I know I would. I really don't see why some people find this concept so difficult to understand.

There are many advantages to being in public office, not just this one. You can vote for your own pay raise. You show up on Capitol Hill whenever you want to look self-important. Permanent retirement for congressmen who last more than two terms in office. Very specialized health care because you are far more deserving than those who voted you into office. The list goes on and on. Plus, Republicans and Democrats alike enjoy studying how to constantly improve those benefits. It's the only time when this is truly a time for bipartisan cooperation and coming up with solutions they all agree on.

He will complain he needs special treatment for his "smoking problems and treatment".
