Would You Be Upset If The Dixie Chicks Said The Same Things About Obama?

July 9th, 2009

I know the dixie chicks are long gone but would you be upset if they (or anyone who held the limelight like the dixie chicks) were spouting anti-obama in another country?

  1. it was true about bush. how about those girls

  2. good thoughts create a good life

The Dixie Chicks are raising kids they are not gone they are the top country singers. They did not say anything anti-Bush. They just said they were from TX same state as Bush but as mother’s did not agree with sending children off to war. Actually it was lamer than that. It was not at all disrespectful to people. Obama would never start a war to make contruction contracts for Halliburton-bin laden construction but if he did then he would deserve people to say things to support our troops & their families the way the Chicks did. She was supporting your children if you have any. She was for us not for some rich theive. Why would you be on his side & not your own side?

  3. Since obama is bowing to Saudi Arabia and apologizing for how “arrogant” and bad America is. He’s saying the majority of America is Muslim… Please? How many of you are Muslim? I bet not the majority.
So, if some band or famous person wants to bash this American and Christian hater, they can go right ahead. Any President who will not stand for the freedoms this country fights for does not render respect.

  4. I think too many people overreacted to the Dixie Chicks statements.
Apparently even Bush seemed to think too much was being made of this. Here is a quote from him on the issue.
“The Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind. They can say what they want to say … they shouldn’t have their feelings hurt just because some people don’t want to buy their records when they speak out … Freedom is a two-way street … I don’t really care what the Dixie Chicks said. I want to do what I think is right for the American people, and if some singers or Hollywood stars feel like speaking out, that’s fine. That’s the great thing about America. It stands in stark contrast to Iraq.”
But who would be complaining if a performer from Illinois said “Just so you know, we’re ashamed the president of the United States is from Illinois .” Only the most ardent liberals!
Some claim that the fact the comments were made on foriegn soil adds to the outrage. I do not agree.

  5. The Dixie Chicks are decerning enough to know a rat when they see one – and Li’l Bush was a destructive little rat.
So if they said the same things about Obama, I’d figure it was just a republican lie of some sort – some stupid thing that Karl Rove wrote for the unwashed republican drunks.

  6. ou812 the hate returns

As much as I hate Obama, yes.
I wasn’t mad that they had opinions, I was mad that they used their fame to broadcast their opinions.
They are/were entertainers and should remain as such. I don’t pay for a concert or show ticket to hear their view when I can’t voice my opinion also.

  7. I don’t think that it’s right to trash one’s President in a foreign country, whether it’s Bush or Obama. We already have enough negative issues to overcome without celebrities taking it upon themselves to do further damage.

  8. Did not upset me when they said it about Bush, it is amazing that so many in our culture today give credence to these entertainers. Why don’t they just run for office. I know, they would not make the millions and they might have to think on their feet

  9. Yes. Even though I don’t agree with what Obama is doing, he is the president and should be treated with respect. BTW it is not disrespectful to disagree with the president.

  10. Of course.
He is the president of the United States and as such deserves the respect of that office. Even if he is totally wrong.

  11. No, I wouldn’t be upset.
    I don’t like the job Obama’s doing. But I also don’t like the Dixie-Chicks.
    So I would remain unchanged.

  12. Yes, since Obama is not from Texas, and the Dixie Chicks are smarter than that.

  13. There is nothing anyone could say about Obama that would be worse than the truth which is self-evident.

  14. Same as what? If the Dixie Chicks publicly disagreed with the president? I thought we all had freedom of speech in this country.

  15. You’re right they are long gone ! dissing an American leader is wrong when you are traveling overseas ! I don’t care who it is !

  16. I wasn’t upset with them. They have the right to freedom of speech, opinions and thinking.

  17. The problem was they they were clearly very poorly informed.

  18. racism is unbecoming

It would not thrill me, but it would not upset me either. They have free speech, as they are US citizens.

  19. They’re not long gone. Liberals love them and buy their records in pity.

  20. bush/obama whats the difference? they are both puppets of your fed bankers – wise up

  21. Liberals make me laugh

    That could spur a comeback….
