In Our Current Economic State Should Michelle Obama Be Flaunting The Money She Spends On Clothes?
July 12th, 2009Michelle Obama carried a “clutch” purse worth $6000.00 while in Russia and in April she showed up at a food bank in Washington DC in a $600.00 pair of sneakers! Isn’t this sending the wrong message to people who are losing their jobs? Just how elitist are the obama’s?
$6,000? I could redo my entire wardrobe with things that look good and professional for under $1,000 easy . . . She would practically have to trash her clothes after wearing it once (to save water, you know) in order to spend that much, unless she has any common sense at all. Really, a plain t-shirt and jeans would look nice enough, for under $30 . . .
How do you know she paid for them?
I hate to tell you this, but people like Michelle Obama are usually given these items because it’s good press for the designers. Same for the other first ladies and all those people in Hollywood.
They just charge those who work hard for their money! LOL

Actually, it does matter. You said the money she spends. Now that you know you might be wrong, you want to try to twist it so you don’t look foolish. It’s way too late for that though.

And by the way, I tend to not pay attention to the worth of ANY politicans clothing. It really means nothing to me since I know they are loaned these items by the designers.
I don’t think she should be doing that, regardless of the economic state.
But to carry an expensive purse is not the same as “flaunting” her money. She didn’t brag to the Russians about how much she had spent, did she? Nor did she leave the price tag exposed for the reporters and photographers to see. We know about the value of her clothes, only because it’s reported by people looking for something to complain about.
It is the new Obama Stimulus Package at tax payers expense for travel but that is OK by me because she is entitled because she is the 1st lady. 1 st ladies like to spend money why not their man has become the most important man in the world. If it is her money then she can spend it on what she wants without penalty, like buying a SUV.
What I would rather find out is how a community organizer can be worth over 2 1/2 million dollars.
betcha that the retailer who sold them, breathed a sigh of gratitude. For all you know.. that purse SAVED someone’s job.
Jobs depending on circulating money. That is a no brainer.

I hope whatever these items are she is wearing that they were made in America at least. I doubt it.
Did you ever see the emailed hotel room service bill signed by her that was forwarded around before the election for the champagne and lobster “snack” at the Park Plaza? I think the cost was something like $800.00. Wish I’d saved it.
She loves the rich life for sure.
But, then again, good old Nancy Reagan did her share in her day. But, those were different economic times.
It is unwise to flaunt when so many are in hard shape.
But, of course is it unwise to sign on the largest tax increase ever in our country (cap and trade) at such an economic time.
Good old fashioned common sense would be nice to see.
Princess Pelosi needs her huge fancy jet and Queen Obama needs to be adorned in gold and silver. Cmon these arent republicans, theyre democrats! Theyre glorious and glamorous and just so smart. It must not be flaunting if its a democrat.
She’s only trying to draw attention away from her rather large and muscular hind quarters which were made more fro pulling a plow than for a first lady. …and remember, that’s why we’re all being asked to sacrifice – so the Obama’s don’t have to.
And yet the Dems BLASTED Sarah Palin for the expense of her wardrobe during the campaign.
But think of it this way…. Now you know where your stimulus money is going. To offer a bailout to the designer clothing industry.
She is simply being a typical liberal along for the free ride and living it up on tax payer money don’t worry the little people pay for it. nothing new here.
And if she wore converse sneakers you’d call her a rube.
They can’t win with people who are always looking for a fight.
P.S. Having style and class is a requirement to be first lady.
What does she care. Screw Americans and the country she don’t like. She believes its her due. She believes the same way as her pastor for 20 years believes. God Damn America.
It is tacky. And even with a $6,000. purse she still does not have a classy look. Some people just don’t have it. Still, it looks better on her than old Sarah Palin does in those fish waders, ugh!
Remember when Sarah Palin wore some expensive clothes and it was all over every network except for Fox News and now Michelle is doing it and the liberals have nothing to say.
She came from a poor family and the money has gone to her head.
