What Is This Health Care Reform By Obama All About?
July 27th, 2009I have been hearing about it briefly but still do not understand what President Obama wants to do. Republicans this and Democrats that, and the Senate and Clinton….all words but what is the real deal here? How are insurance companies going to be affected and why are the consumers going to gain?
President Obama is trying to make health care available to everyone. How is that a bad idea? People are dying with no access to heath care. Regular people, fathers, mothers, daughters, sons have no access to health care and they live in the richest country in the world. Today, 61% of all bankruptcies are filed because the filers can’t pay their medical bills. Universal health care exists in every other industrialized country in the world. Every other one.
Your taxes and mine pay for the Armed Forces and the Interstate Highway system, whether we were attacked or whether everyone drives. They fund the radar and traffic control system, the Air Traffic Controllers who make commercial air travel safe even if you don’t leave home. Taxes from non-readers and readers alike pay for the libraries. Your taxes help fund the fire department that saved someone else’s home.
Health care should be like that.
He wants to REQUIRE everyone to buy medical insurance and IF YOU DON’T there will be a HUGE FINE!
I can’t afford FOOD – I certainly can’t afford medical insurance or some stupid fine.
