Americans, Is It True Obama Is Bringing In A Healthcare System?
July 28th, 2009At last! We have had the NHS for almost 60 years and no one has to pay for medical treatment. I think it’s just so backward that you do, and that you can be bankrupted by being ill. If this is true, why don’t you all worship Obama? The man is going so save so many lives!
People in the UK pay for their health insurance. Its simply a universal system that is cheaper per person than the average found in the US. Obama isn’t proposing a universal system…he’s proposing an public option as an alternative to existing plans.
The United States has a health care system, one good enough that those from other countries with socialized health care come to for treatment.
I do not want the government involved in deciding whether or not a person of XX age should receive medical help, I do not want the government to mandate XX number of minorities be enrolled in med school regardless of being unqualified. Both of which are a part of the purposed health care bill.
National health care has been a Democratic goal for 20 years. Obama did not set that goal. Republicans have done everything they can to keep the system making big money for the Insurance companies. The simple truth is that those that are wealthy in the USA want those that are poor to pay more and more. This keeps those that are wealthy in their current life style of excess. Those Republicans who oppose National Health care don’t really care if the people live or die. They also don’t care if the USA or anyone goes bankrupt for medical bills.
No one has to pay for medical treatment? Really? The doctors work for free in the UK? The equipment appears magically?
Obama does not have plan. He presented nothing to congress except a few platitudes. There are already “free” government run programs in the US an they are awful. I’ll keep the system as it is now rather than the travesty that is being proposed.
You can feel free to worship whomever you like. I’ll pass on the Obamassiah.

FOR WHAT WE PAY NOW, WE COULD INSURE EVERY MAN, WOMAN & CHILD IN AMERICA WITH NO DEDUCTIBLE, NO COPAY COVERAGE.
Yes. First of all, too many people do not know that Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. His system is similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland.
Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, the Netherlands, Cuba, Switzerland, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
…OK then…Apparently you hate it. Why don’t you bring up actual points instead of just being sarcastic about it? I don’t care if you think it’s a joke, it’s policy that may be enacted soon. Treat it as such.

I’m sorry you don’t understand Americans but a lot of us believe in freedoms vs having to pay for every ones health-care through taxes.
Jeez! It seems as if the US does not care about their poor citizens dying as they cannot afford hospital fees. Why should you all say this is socialist, don’t you care about your fellow Americans dying?
Excuse me but I voted for the man, that doesn’t mean that I worship him. Yes, it is about time America makes some kind of NHS.
If this goes through one thing I am certain of is that our country will be bankrupt.
